TheraCommunity Moon Blog for September 2023

As we roll into September we are still feeling the effects of the super blue full moon we just experienced in the last days of August. This powerful full moon was a great energy boost, and encouraged us to follow our dreams. If we aren't there yet, we are probably ready for some of this intense retrograde energy to let up. We've been in retrograde with Venus, Mercury, Pluto, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus. This month we will be exiting Venus and Mercury retrograde, with Jupiter entering retrograde. Jupiter is farther away from Earth, so this "outer planet" in retrograde won't effect us as noticeably as the closer planets, Mercury and Venus. With all of this backward rotation, we may have felt stuck and confused for a while. By the end of September we should be feeling much more grounded, and ready to move ahead with any plans, financial decisions, romantic interests, and business ventures we've put on hold, or have felt indecisive about.

Let's explore some of the more prominent astrological happenings for September:

September 3rd- Venus Goes Direct:

When a planet goes direct, it means it's retrograde cycle is at an end. Our lessons and reflections from Venus retrograde were all about relationships, finances, beauty and art.

Anywhere we were questioning or feeling stuck in these areas, we should now feel less stuck, and the answers will soon be revealed to us. When reflecting on these areas, where has our focus been, and what have we learned in the last 6 weeks?

September 4th-Jupiter enters retrograde:

Jupiter represents success, optimism, and generosity. When a planet goes retrograde, it is a time for reflection on past experiences, so that we can gleam the lessons and knowledge from those, in order to make more informed decisions moving forward.

Retrograde is a time for slowing down and giving ourselves a chance to rest. For the rest of the month we should slow down, and observe what successes we have achieved, and where we have shown generosity, and where others have shown it to us. We should look with optimism at the lessons learned from the past, and on the opportunities of the future.

September 14th- New moon in Virgo:

New moon or "no moon" is a time to recede into the quiet darkness of ourselves, and discover what is hiding there, waiting to come into the light. It is a time for setting intentions for the month ahead, and releasing that which is no longer serving us.

Virgo is an Earth sign and is know for it's grounding and practicality. Virgo keeps us sensible and on coarse, during the turbulence of having so much retrograde energy swirling around us. As we turn within during our meditations or reflections this day, we should look at what makes sense, and what feels practical to us when deciding what our goals and intentions should be moving forward.

September 15th- Mercury goes direct:

Mercury retrograde is the big one. The retrograde that everyone talks about, and the one whos affects are most noticeable. For two weeks prior to, and for two weeks after a retrograde, there is a pre-shadow and post-shadow period. These shadow periods may have us feeling the effects of retrograde even though it isn't really officially retrograde. We can keep this in mind if we are still having problems with communication, electronics, or having our plans not work out quite the way we had planned. Even though many people view Mercury retrograde as a negative thing, it doesn't have to be. It can be viewed as good for us to learn the lessons the universe has to offer, to learn patience, and to release control. Growth happens when we are uncomfortable, not when everything is going our way!

September 22nd- Sun enters Libra:

The scales represent the air sign, Libra. Equality and equilibrium are the aspects that seem of importance during Libra season. Libras tend to search for peace and harmony in their lives, and are usually kind and even tempered. Recognizing the aspects of the sign our sun is in, can help us to embrace and empower ourselves with those energies.

Where could we use more equality in our lives? What will bring us peace and harmony? These are good questions to ask ourselves at this time friends. Journaling on these things can be of help.

September 23rd- Equinox

It is autumn equinox in the northern hemisphere, and spring equinox in the southern hemisphere. Equinox is the day we celebrate the changing of seasons, and the shifting of the energies surrounding us. It is a turning point. It represents a time when the veil between dimensions is thin, and the energy grid of the planet moves into closer harmony with the forces of nature. Today is a good time to be outside, as nature's healing powers can be felt more intensly at this time.

The period of day and night are about equal at this time. Fitting that we have just entered the sign of Libra, that represents equality. We can find harmony between the light and dark within ourselves, by being accepting of all aspects of ourselves, even those which we may not view as "good." After all we are only human, and should forgive that humanness in ourselves as well as others.

September 29th- Full Moon in Aries:

Under the light of the full moon all that needs healing is illuminated. May the firey power of Aries burn away all that is holding us back from our full potential, and let us step into the light of our own heart. Being bold and brave as we nurture that which we know needs to grow, in order for us to be who we are meant to be.

Our ego is easily sparked at this time, so we can keep in mind that getting too much in our own head doesn't serve us, and that letting our heart lead the way will be more prosperous. Our manifestations should be our focus today. Let us not be afraid of the power we hold in our own hands to create the life we want!

As we close out the month we enter a new season in our lives. It is a time to wrap ourselves in the warmth of our own light, and embrace what makes us unique, what makes us ourselves. May the odds be ever in our favor friends! Happy September!
